Please consider becoming a volunteer for any of the opportunities below.
Our parish needs people willing to pass on the faith to our children. Being a catechist, or a catechist assistant is a great way to get more involved in the parish and learn more about the faith yourself!
There are twenty six, 75 minute sessions during the school year, beginning the third week in October and concluding the end of April with time off for the holidays.
You will be successful! We will provide all the materials you need. Class sizes are small usually 5 to 10 students.
We will provide training that can make you feel more confident, more knowledgeable about the faith and will eventually lead to a Diocesan certification.
Time required: 1 hour 15 minutes and lesson planning time.
Talents desired: Willingness to commit to sharing the faith with children

Maybe you don’t feel God is calling you to the classroom or something instructional. We need other volunteers too! Office assistants are needed who can help assist children to their rooms, prepare special project and event materials, set up and tear down tables and chairs after special events, provide daycare for evening adult classes or gatherings! We also need volunteers to usher, Eucharistic Minister, and lector when we celebrate at the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s.
**All catechists and volunteers will be asked to attend a Protecting God’s Children session. This seminar focuses on how all of us can be more aware and help in the prevention of child sexual abuse. These sessions will be offered at variety of times.
