• Our parish needs people willing to pass on the faith to our children. Being a catechist, or a catechist assistant is a great way to get more involved in the parish and learn more about the faith yourself!
• There are twenty six, 75 minute sessions during the school year, beginning the third week in October and concluding the end of April with time off for the holidays. 
• You will be successful! We will provide all the materials you need. Class sizes are small usually 5 to 10 students. 
• We will provide training that can make you feel more confident, more knowledgeable about the faith and will eventually lead to a Diocesan certification.
• Time required: 1 hour 15 minutes and lesson planning time.

• The Children’s Liturgy of the Word ministry is important. It helps the children participate in Mass in order to know Christ better, by developing a relationship with the Lord. 
• Offered at our weekend Liturgies. Children, kindergarten-1st grade, meet in the Church basement and hear the word in language suitable to their age.
• Time required: About 1 hour every 1-2 months depending on number of leaders.
• Talents desired: Confirmed Catholic who enjoys sharing your faith with children.

• Every family strives to strengthen its bond by sharing events that are meaningful. The Religious Education office hosts parish family nights throughout the year to enrich our parish family's Catholic faith. The special nights focus on strengthening our bond as family, community, and spiritually.

• VBS is a four day camp from 9:30am - 12:00pm. Each year is a different theme. Children gather in the mornings during four days in the summer, for songs, crafts, prayer while learning more about Jesus. 
• Crew members meet from 9:20am – 12:15pm each day. 
• Adult and Students who have completed grade five and beyond are welcome to help with Vacation Bible School. 
• Crew members will meet for a two day training where they will learn the bible message, songs, motions and setting up the different stations.

• Maybe you don’t feel God is calling you to the classroom or something instructional. We need other volunteers too! Office assistants are needed who can help assist children to their rooms, prepare special project and event materials, set up and tear down tables and chairs after special events, provide daycare for evening adult classes or gatherings! We also need volunteers to usher, Eucharistic Minister, and lector when we celebrate at the Cathedral of St. Andrew’s.

**All catechists and volunteers will be asked to attend a Protecting God’s Children session. This seminar focuses on how all of us can be more aware and help in the prevention of child sexual abuse. These sessions will be offered at variety of times.
